March for Life Cape Town 2019

Yesterday marked the anniversary of the legalization of abortion in South Africa. 
On the 1st of February 1997, the Choice On Termination Of Pregnancy Act came into force, providing abortion on demand for a variety of cases.

Each year a Cape Town bases organisation called Africa Christian Action leads a march to parliament to mourn the lives of 1.6 million babies who have been killed by abortion in South Africa, with the money of the taxpayers of South Africa.

A hears lead the way to honour the lives of all the babies who have been killed by abortion and who have never had a chance to have a funeral.

On Thursday I marched beside my daughter and a few of my good friends in memory of the child that I lost to abortion 18 years ago. Here is my abortion story and the reason why I am so passionate about what I do.
I also do online post abortion counselling for anyone who wants to contact me.

I had the honour of speaking at the march and representing my organisation called Project Life. 

I raised awareness about the baby savers in the Western Cape and spoke about the many babies who are found in dumpsters who are in fact victims of third-trimester abortion. 
I also tried to raise awareness of the Project Life website as the website has a list of crisis pregnancy centres and baby savers around South Africa.

My sign this year said "May S.A NEVER follow in the foot steps of New York!!! #latetermabortion" as this past week the New York abortion bill was passed allowing babies to be aborted until birth and therefore allowing late term/third-trimester abortion.

I briefly spoke about the New York abortion bill in my speech and was so surprised to hear that so few people at the march were aware of the New York abortion bill. 

Why is it that this is not on the front page of newspapers in South Africa?

Or at least reported somewhere in the South African media or news.

Many pro-life gynaecologists are saying that it is safer for the mother to have a c-section and let the baby come out alive than it is to first terminate the pregnancy and then have her deliver the dead baby, by induction or c-section.

Theses babies deserve a chance to breathe and a chance to live.

I released this song last year called Think of me and it is a song written from the baby's point of view asking for a chance to live, to love and to be loved.

Many Pro Choicers are arguing that babies who will not be able to survive on the outside of the womb will die anyway. But these babies deserve to be given the chance, and if they are taking their last breaths, deserve to do so in the loving arms of a nurse or a doctor if the mother is unable to do so, or unwilling to do so. Third-trimester abortion is also excruciatingly painful for the baby and the baby will suffer a great deal because these babies have fully developed nervous systems.

Years ago, before abortion was legal in South Africa, people said that it would never happen that in this country. 
They said that it was impossible and that abortion would never become legal.

But look, here we are.

And now people are saying that late-term abortion will never become legal in South Africa.
People are saying that what happened in New York will never happen here.

Song Release: Think Of Me

Raising awareness about the rights of the unborn is something that is really close to my heart. 
Because of my own life experience of losing a child to abortion when I was 14 years old, I am passionate about preventing abortion.

I am so blessed to have had this amazing song written by the fantastic Katie Pappas, an international songwriter who has written music for Christian movies.

Bruce Retief was responsible for bringing this song to life, and I am so grateful to have worked with them.

The music video was produced by Desmond Denton from Imagen Heart productions, and the video is about the story of a woman in an unplanned pregnancy who chooses life for her baby.  
The video ends where she is presented with another option: abortion, after she has seen what could be if she chooses to let her baby live. 

I pray that this song and this music video will help many girls in unplanned pregnancies to choose life for their babies.

Hartenbos Aarendsfees Music Festival

I was invited to take part in the Hartenbos Aarendsfees Music Festival over the Easter weekend and how could I possibly refuse? 

Thanks to the amazing band that traveled from Cape Town and also played for Shannah and Andriette de la Harpe, I had the best stage support I could have asked for. 

With Deon Knipe playing bass guitar, Wikis Du Rand and Rudolph Müller on guitar and back up vocals, and Charlton Loff playing the drums, the stage was set!

I had the opportunity to have the stage on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. On Sunday evening I spoke but didn’t sing again.

My EP was available to buy and I also sold some T-Shirts that I had printed. I sold Christian jewelry and all of the t-shirts sold!

Errol Naidoo from Salt and Light did an interview with me for his show and I shared my views on abortion and shared about how I am passionately pro-life after having an abortion when I was 14 years old. 

Errol was kind enough to have his camera crew record a live acoustic version of me singing my song Your Love and I am thankful for the favor.




It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform at Hartenbos and is something that I will treasure always to have had this privilege.
